Meet The Team
Two decades ago I returned from Europe and was keen to start something of my own. I'd worked as a labourer and enjoyed networking and generally helping people out, so labour hire seemed a good fit. The year was 1994 and 'The Labour Exchange' was born....
What matters to me most is people and I have learned that, to be successful, you need to surround yourself with great people. I am very fortunate to have a fantastic team both in our office and out on our sites.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my partner Robyn and our our 2 boys Marlo and Hew. I'm also a keen music listener and enjoy seeing live bands play. If I had more time I would play more golf or go fishing....as long as it's fun, I'm not fussy...!!
Giles originates from the UK but is married to a Kiwi and has lived here for the past 12 years. Hotelier and wine retailer are his previous occupations but he is now happily ensconced here at the Labour Exchange.
During his time off Giles loves nothing better than watching his son play rugby and playing golf himself - badly!
Bevan has been with The Labour Exchange for 10 years, starting out as our city driver and depot supervisor, then moving into the operations management role in mid 2010. He is still very much hands-on at the depot, organising orders, making sure the right person is chosen for the job, and co-ordinating site visits to make sure our workers and clients are looked after. His personable manner and professional approach make him well received by workers and clients alike.
HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER
Craig is a 15 year veteran as of The Labour Exchange. He has, over that time, developed an in depth understanding of the industry and has forged many long standing relationships with clients and workers alike. Craig monitors and maintains our health and safety processes, which are an increasingly vital aspect of our industry.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Steve's enthusiasm at work is infectious. He liaises with new clients and runs inductions at our depot. Steve also plays a big role in health and safety conducting tool box talks onsite with our workers, and completing accident investigations to the highest standard. Steve epitomizes what it means to be a "Good Bastard" and is always willing to lend a hand and help out where needed.
In his spare time Steve enjoys time with his family, riding his Indian motorcycle and going to the gym.
Mike has worked for The Labour Exchange for 10 years and has established strong relationships with his clients in South Auckland who appreciate his reliable, friendly approach.
